Duke of Argyll's Personal Motto:

"Vix ea nostra voco" means "I scarcely call these things our own". This Latin phrase has been associated with the Campbell name, as well as many other clans and families, for centuries. The motto relates to the principle of stewardship. The careful and responsible management of something considered worth caring for and preserving, entrusted to one's care throughout their lifetime in order to pass it on to future generations.
