2. There were no minutes from the February meeting due to the illness of the Secretary. David Stedman agreed to serve as secretary pro tem. It was announced that the AGM banquet would begin at 6 p.m. and dinner would be served at 7 p.m. followed by entertainment. The Middle Tennessee Highland Games began at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Clan Campbell—the honored clan—would lead the procession of clans at 11 a.m. Several members offered transportation to those who did not have cars.

3. The roll was called, and there was a quorum with only 2 members absent, one excused. Cherie Bates of Arizona was appointed by President Carl Guilford to take the (2020) place of David Swain Campbell of Colchester, VT, who had resigned because of illness. It was noted that following the EC meeting a resignation would be offered by Sharen St.John, and the EC agreed to accept Jeff McDermott to replace her and stand for election to the class of 2021. The EC also endorsed Edward W. Allen to fill a term in the class of 2021, as each “class” should be brought to 4 members. The election of nominees to the trusteeship would be by ballot in the Winter 2018 JOURNAL. Michael Taylor will chair the Nominating Committee along with Eric Campbell and Linda Campbell Knowlton. A ballot will be included in the Winter 2018 JOURNAL. *On the motion of Mike Taylor, seconded by Jeff Campbell and agreed unanimously each class of trustee would be four candidates.

4. The Agenda, as printed was approved.

5. Treasurer Robert Campbell St .John presented a financial report. The income for 2018 increased because the CCEF paid a portion of the JOURNAL costs and has been receiving money from the 44 persons who will be participating in the 2020 CCSNA tour to Scotland. Income was $78,397, expenses $42,950, and the net was $35, 446.

6. The committees reported:

1) MEMBERSHIP. Randy Seale reported that the membership was slightly down.

2) IT. Randy Seale was pleased to show the EC the results of the work by ROUND EARTH (pro bono) to correct any deficiencies in the Web site. Members will log in using their email address as given to membership and create a password. Within two weeks commissioners can obtain their updated lists for states and regions and PayPal will be operative. There was discussion.

3) JOURNAL and ENEWSLETTER. David Stedman told the EC that he was pleased to report that he had edited an eNewsletter each month since August 2010 and was attempting to follow guidelines so that the free eNews did not “compete” with the JOURNAL. The fall 2018 JOURNAL has moved from production to mailing, and he and Mike Fisher are proud of the issue.

4) LIBRARY AND GENEALOGY. Dr. Ruby Campbell presented a written report, itemizing the first 8 months in which she exceeded expenses with 155 queries/replies by $469. The database now has 203,516 Campbell individuals and 19,393 non –Campbell persons, all entered by Dr. Ruby herself. Dr. Ruby looks to find a successor to mentor. The Clan Campbell Library now stands at 765 books and is insured for $25,000.

5) SENNACHIE Donald Draper Campbell reported that an article in the JOURNAL has resulted in a Campbell Society member applying to Lord Lyon for Arms.

6 OLD BUSINESS:

1) North Carolina Deputy Commissioner Tyler Burns has undertaken to create a GOFundMe for Campbells to assist in the funding of a Campbell stone memorial at Grandfather Mountain. It is hoped that the $1500 can be raised quickly.

7. NEW BUSINESS:

1) There was discussion of the need/non need for a midyear meeting as many ways are possible to escape large personal outlays for transportation, lodging, and food twice each year. The EC agreed to a midyear meeting in Las Vegas, April 12-13, 2019 in connection with the Nevada Games, but discussion will continue about face-to-face meetings.

2) The 2019 AGM will be held in Richmond, VA, in connection with the Central Virginia Celtic Festival 23-26 October, 2019 and host Eric Campbell promises presentations on the many Campbell involved in the War Between the States.

 8. The meeting was adjourned at 4 p.m.

Respectfully, for the CCSNA Secretary, David Stedman
