Eldest son and heir of Sir Colin Campbell, 3rd Lord of Lochow and Helena de Levenax of Lennox.

Married 1st: He married, firstly, unknown Menteith, daughter of Sir John Menteith.
Children by first wife:
1. Helen Campbell, She married, firstly, Iain Macdonald, son of Iain Macdonald, Lord of the Isles and Amie MacRuari, before 1369. Had issue. She married, secondly, Duncan, 8th Earl of Lennox, son of Walter of Faslane and Margaret, Countess of Lennox, before 1373. She was also known as Ellen. Had issue.
Married 2nd: He married, secondly, Mary Lamont, daughter of Sir John Lamont of that Ilk.

1. Sir Colin Campbell, later 5th Lord of Lochow d. bt 1412 - 1414
2. Duncan Campbell, reported to be the ancestor of the Campbells of Glenfeochan

Note: He was also known as Gillespic. He gained the title of Lord of Lochow [feudal barony]. On 2 May 1343 he was granted many forfeited lands by King David II, and received also from Mary II, Countess of Menteith, daughter of Alan II, Earl of Menteith, a grant of Kilmun, confirmed by charter of King David II on 11 October 1363. He lived in 1360 at Lockawe, Scotland. On 26 March 1371 he did homage to King Robert II.
